Digital Marketing Assistant

About PlusCode We're a small, purpose-driven web design and marketing automation agency based in Milan, Michigan. We believe technology should free people to do more of what matters — and we back that up by ensuring every project we take on also funds community and nonprofit work. The Role This part-time position supports PlusCode's content, social media, and digital marketing efforts as we expand our services across southeastern Michigan. You'll work directly with our founders to help tell the stories of our clients and community, keep our online presence consistent and compelling, and assist with marketing campaigns that reflect who we really are.

What You'll Do

Content Creation & Scheduling — Write, gather, and schedule social media posts across Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube following our four content pillars: transformation stories, behind-the-scenes process content, community impact, and authentic human connections. Stock photos and generic content are not our style.

SEO & Blog Support — Assist with writing and publishing blog posts optimized for local search. Help maintain our Google Business Profile with fresh updates, photos, and review responses.

Campaign Coordination — Support email newsletter creation, help coordinate monthly Chamber of Commerce educational events, and track performance metrics across campaigns.

Client Story Documentation — Assist with capturing client wins, gathering testimonials, and helping turn real results into shareable content. Our clients are the heroes — your job is to help tell their stories well.

Automation Support — Help manage and monitor basic marketing automation workflows (social posting, email sequences, etc.) using tools like Zapier or similar platforms. No deep technical experience required — a willingness to learn is enough.

What We're Looking For

Someone who is genuinely curious about people and communities, not just marketing tactics. You should have a solid grasp of social media platforms and basic content writing, an eye for authentic storytelling over polished-but-hollow messaging, and comfort learning new digital tools quickly. Familiarity with SEO basics, Canva, or email marketing platforms is a bonus. Experience with AI writing tools is a plus, but knowing when NOT to use them matters more.

You don't need to be a technical wizard — Dave handles the systems side. What matters is that you're reliable, communicative, care about doing good work, and understand that we lead with relationship, not technology.

Hours & Compensation Approximately 10–20 hours per week, flexible scheduling. Compensation commensurate with experience. Remote work with occasional local meetings in the Milan/Ann Arbor area.
